an encounter with sality

there are so much to learn about internet... but learning take caution...
i once deal with a pesky worm called brontok.. it took me one week to remove that worm out of my PC. and now after 6 years of virus free on my PC a new one struct me..
the WORM.SALITY virus.. this worm took my 7 year old PC to its knees.. it's characteristics differ from other virus i encounter.
1. the virus infect exe programs, it attached sometihing on your legitimate program..
2. Worm:Win32/Sality.AU also drops .LNK files, detected as Exploit:Win32/CplLnk.A, which automatically run the dropped virus.
3. you can't install antivirus if you are infected.

HOW TO remove it...

1. first of all this worm wont let you use reg edit, Task manager and hide your folder options. to acces taskmanager use the code.
  REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f


PLEASE turn OFF system restore before proceeding...
2. Download a file called sality remover and AVAST free antivirus.
     NOTE: before downloading /saving this on your computer, rename the file extension with .cmd. if your dont rename it then sality worm will infect it.. better download the file in a clean computer then rename its extension with .cmd.. 
3. after scanning with salite remover, reboot then install avast anti virus. re scan it with avast..
now if there are presistent remains, delete them manually.. you can see their address from anti virus report.
that's it... you're done...
